This book of reflections by Alan Amavisca is for you. Whatever the size of your current arena of service, you are one of the readers for whom Alan wrote this book.
Each reflection begins with Scripture, then brings the biblical context forward into our twenty-first century reality, challenges readers with some new insight, and ends with a query that motivates personal application. Let this book of reflections become God’s tool in maturing you.
Whether you are a local church pastor, a Sunday school teacher, an usher, a missionary, or a person wanting to work for the Lord but not sure just how you fit in, this book of reflections by Alan Amavisca is for you. It will inspire, motivate, and encourage you.
–Nancy Thomas, author of A Long Walk, A Gradual Ascent
Alan Amavisca (MA, Fuller Theological Seminary) has spent forty years ministering cross-culturally as a missionary church planter, mission pastor, mission director, and chair of several mission boards. His Friends background has deeply informed his commitment to prayer and Scripture.
His current role, as the Director of North County Project, allows him to focus on grassroots disciple-making and outreach to the unchurched in North Orange County. He loves investing in emerging young leaders in the church through a learning community called The Lab, and equipping believers to engage with unchurched people who want to know more about Jesus. Alan and his wife, Barbara, live in Placentia, California. They have four married children on three continents—as well as twelve grandchildren.
